About Abbe Turner

Abbe Turner, owner of Lucky Penny Farm and Mushroom Harvest Provisions, is a goat farmer, professional grant writer, and seasoned entrepreneur. Abbe currently grows Shiitake mushrooms and delivers local foods to over 50 central Ohio area restaurants and retail accounts.  

Abbe creates social good in agricultural, environmental, and nonprofit organizations as a business development, strategic planning and fundraising consultant. A professional fundraiser by trade, she has raised money for public broadcasting, arts organizations, academia and national parks. Her current projects include Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association, Rural Action, Washington State Department of Agriculture, and as a USDA Technical Assistant with the Niche Meat Processors Assistance Network. 

Abbe has received associate degrees in Viticulture and Enology from Kent State University and received her Master’s Degree in Arts Policy and Administration from The John Glenn School at The Ohio State University. She farms in Madison County and is happiest wearing muck boots and drinking coffee.
